The architecture can be defined as the art and science of designing and creating buildings and structures. This is the planning, design and construction of spaces so that they reflect functional, social and aesthetic considerations. Coordination of materials, technology, shadow and light as well as project planning, cost estimating and construction administration is very important.

Architectural works are given great importance because they play a role in the identification of historic civilizations. The architectural trends have been evolving since its concept has emerged from classical to medieval times to the Renaissance to Industrial to Modern to Post Modern.

The work of an architect is to plan, design and review structure formation by the organization of creative elements in regard to mass, area, volume, texture, shape, etc. Other factors such as pragmatic limits of construction, use of technology, economics factors, functionality and practicality of the project must also be taken into account with an artistic approach.

All institutes of architecture must be approved by the Council of Architecture, an organization which "regulates the teaching and practice of the architectural profession throughout India. It regulates the standards of education of 108 architectural institutes and colleges across India.

This is an undergraduate program of 5 years which includes both theoretical and practical training.
