Whether you are trying to stick with a smaller budget, or if you simply want to inject a personal note in your wedding preparations, make your own wedding invitations can be a great idea. There are so many options for buying wedding invitations pre-made, but to make your own opportunities are virtually endless!





Color choices



As always, your choice of color for the wedding invitations you design and you should reflect the colors you chose for the wedding itself. You do not know how it works? Just look at the colors of bridesmaid dresses, jewelry and other accessories to determine your color options for invitations.



Generally, you will choose a main color for your wedding, and this should be reflected in elements such as bridesmaid dresses, and decorations. Accent colors for jewelry and other minor elements must also be taken into consideration.



With these colors chosen, you can then apply them to your invitations. You can use the main theme wedding invitation that the color of principle, either by applying it to the invitation, card stock, envelope liner, or sleeve of the card. Then use your accent colors of ink and other decorative additions.





Shapes and sizes



What shape and size? Most pre-made invitations are square or rectangular, but if you make your own invitations, you can choose any shape you like. You can subscribe to these traditional forms, if you prefer, but really, there is no limit to the opportunities outside the practice of their announcement. If your invitations are mailed, it is usually best to choose standard shapes, sizes and weights to keep your postage costs to a minimum and ensure that your invitations arrive in good condition.



However, while the envelopes must be a normal form, the invitations have can be any shape as long as they meet inside the envelope. If you choose a heavy, thick paper envelope, or use a support card inside the envelope to protect the invitation, you can choose any form at all.



Adding decorations



With the invitation done, why not consider adding some extra decorations? These can be created for a few cents per call, and very easily, in many cases. Consider these ideas:






  • Buy cheap tape and cut lengths that are around two and a half to three times the width of the finished invitation. Tie a length around each invitation, making a nice hello or ends with a knot.



  • If you have designed invitations folder, you can buy sealing wax in a color that matches your invitation and melt the wax to seal the invitation. Use a heart shaped cut to stamp an impression in wax.



  • Look for some cheap silk or paper flowers or put dried flowers and leaves to use as decorations and glue a single flower at the beginning of each call.



  • Buy print or patterned paper by filling in the colors, and cut envelope liners to insert in your invitation envelopes.





Traditional and Alternative charts Envelope Invitations



If you want to design a truly original wedding invitation, why not abandon the traditional format card and envelope completely. Your invitations should not necessarily involve an envelope with an invitation inside!
