Save The Date Photo Cards

My wedding is July 2007. Most of my customers will be out of town ... about 4 hours away. I promise pictures in September and I would like to include photos with the registration date maps. Is Sept-Oct. too late to send cards to save the day? What is too soon and what is too late to send cards to save the day?

I think January 2007 is the best time to send them.

I think the post with photos engagement is a good idea. Some people (especially the campers) to make reservations a year in advance. I think that more attention is better than less notice.
