How to have a vintage wedding? I have an idea vintage at my wedding. Not necessarily the whole thing, but the decor. Ideas? Flowers, centerpieces, displays the picture (of us as children so far). I'm very visual, so photos will help!
Firstly, congratulations on your engagement is a wonderful trip!
Second, my idea is super fave vintage flowers easy, affordable and charming, just use ancient China (from your dresser or even an antique or Thrift Store) and fill them with sweet, romantic, vintage-esque like the pink roses and peonies. You can arrange them in different heights and different combinations on every table. You can even add something sweet in a few gold-wrapped chocolate candies are great to throw back.
Or, if you want to go glam vintage, there are several ways to incorporate the theme, but it is always easier to start with the room and use their design elements to echo the sense in other places. Try using super spectacular, ultra-large, off-white or cream ostrich feathers arranged in a single narrow vessels, or old. Add a little bling with rhinestones and feathers from craft glue and you'll be so old Hollywood!

I'd almost go with the "Old Hollywood" feel. For pictures, I use black and white or sepia, frames in the colors of your wedding and disperse them throughout the place of acceptance in groups (using different sizes, 3x5, 4x6 and aggregate them into groups three and four.
I like the idea of mini chandliers around the host site. For centerpieces, you can use frozen or old glass jars with handles (if possible) filled in a few candles and flowers in a small number in the center of the table. You can also make a checkerboard floor in black and white motif of the dance. (Here's a link to the photos ... ... http://www.stylemepretty.com/2009/08/06/
