ok we have lunch buffet, carved turkey, roasted potatoes, corn, green beans cassorale, rolls and butter, we were originally decided to do a barbecue and i dont really want to buy "real" and The plates would then be permissible to make good Dixie plates and we have like tea and soda bottles and cans I need to get the cups may also be those Dixie brand? or do I get the real thing?
also, its semi formal / casual nothing too fancy!

I would say the clear plastic plates and matching clear plastic dinnerware. They look a little nicer than the plain white paper plates or flowery. You can usually get these in bulk at your local party.

Dixie is actually a good brand, and drawings (in stores right) looks great. In addition, it saves money and is sure to test accident. For a semi-formal event, they will do well! It would be a good idea to make too many cups, because some guests may prefer a cup of a box.

Get Dixie plates. You do not want to do all these dishes you do? local dollar stores sell the same colors, you can match with your wedding, opt for plastic utensils too. You figure you spend $ 30 dollars in a dollar store and have cups, plates, bowls and utensils for everyone. Saves money and makes cleaning sooo much easier.

There is nothing wrong with using paper plates. I found that Chinet is also a plastic plate that is clear. This is called "Chinet cut crystal. I bought mine at Target. As for cups, I agree that you should have some cups and throw okay. Again, you can find them in clear to Sam for a good price. Sam also throw light plates.
